Additional Resources

In addition to the guidance provided in the Toolkit, there are a number of
supplementary resources that can be used to support the documentation,
development, and use of biocultural community protocols.

This section highlights a number of key publications, including reports,
articles, books and booklets, and magazines and journals on biocultural
community protocols. It also lists other relevant literature that could be
useful as further background material.

As legal empowerment is an essential part of biocultural community
protocols, this section contains a number of Legal Resources. A list of
key legal instruments sets out the broad legal landscape. Draft elements
of a global legal review will be posted along the road to producing a consolidated report for the IUCN World Conservation Congress in September 2012 and the 11th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in October 2012. E-learning modules directed towards community-based organizations and supporting NGOs provide user-friendly information and guidance on key legal frameworks that relate to communities and territories and areas.

This section also contains short films and slideshows about biocultural community protocols, including photo stories of community experiences. As with the rest of the website, please note that additional resources will continue to be added over time, so please check back regularly for updates.
